What is Enviroadventure?

We are excited to share with your our new movement to Regenerate GAIA called Enviroadventure.  Enviroadventure is ISAI's proprietary sustainable tourism system. Enviroadventure is an integrative sustainable development program which includes ecotourism, agricultural tourism and Sports Adventure Tourism.  It is integrated by ISAI with Leucaena Effect Agroforestry to regenerate our soils, our air and our planet through tree planting and agroforestry development.

What is Enviroadventure?

Enviroadventure is an advanced form of ecotourism that seeks to help you reconnect with GAIA. At the same time you build your own self esteem, restore habitats, make new friends and regreen GAIA. And it is based on combining these very important aspects of life:

Meaning - To feel that your life makes a difference - that because you were here and acted, the world is a better place for all

Pleasure and Joy - We must reconnect with our bodies and know that it is okay to feel good. It is okay to feel, to enjoy our bodies, to experience and to know ourselves and our fellows. Most importantly, we need to share energy with GAIA. At one time we all shared with GAIA in our seasonal festivals.

Bushido - This Japanese word was the lifestyle of the Samurai or Japan. They knew what they were living for. They knew why they performed each act. Their whole lives were tied up in the duty they felt to their teacher, their master, their emperor, their country. We too as Enviroadventurer make the same commitment to GAIA to do every thing we do in the way that would regenerate GAIA. Each Enviroadventurer will choose one or more specific projects as their Bushido. More than one member of a group may choose the same project and work together.

Self Esteem Building - Self Esteem is the spiritual aspect of life. Our self esteem level tells us what we are permitted to do. As you have the Enviroadventure Experience, you will learn to build your own personal self esteem. You’ll learn to build the self esteem of your fellow Enviroadventurers. By building the self esteem of others, you are able to enlist them in your Bushido. As you share energy with GAIA, you will become more energized and fell alive. The feeling of emptiness will be filled with the love of GAIA and its love for you. As you make new friends who share your goals and ideals, and learn positive interaction skills, you will become more joyful.

What is the Enviroadventure Experience?

Storytellers and web pages -- Indigenous people saving their tribal lands ...planting trees and meditating with Spirit Trees...self nurturing, nurturing others and nurturing GAIA....healing ourselves, healing others and healing GAIA and being healed. returning the Flyers ( birds, butterflies, bats and flying squirrels) to the skies by habitat protection, building shelters and planting wildflowers and trees...becoming one with the Oneness of the Universe ... building personal self esteem and building self esteem in others.....

These and more are just a few of the ways you can have the Enviroadventure experience.

You will experience communication, community,  understanding, interacting, love, self esteem building, nurturing and leaping into action. At the same time you heal yourself, heal others and heal GAIA. And you will find yourself being healed as you become one with the Earth Mother.

One of the Key ways we heal is by finding our Spirit Tree and Meditating with our Spirit Tree.

What is Nurturing?

Nurturing is caring for, protecting, guarding, maintaining the integrity of, preventing harm to, warming, sharing energy with, loving and giving to, receiving from in a reciprocal fashion, being at one with and preserving, adding to pleasuring in combined with sharing alongside. Nurturing is creating a relationships where two or more beings, or lifeforms benefit and maintain themselves together with. Nurturing is building personal self esteem and building the self esteem of others. Nurturing is protecting others from their lack of skills until you can share your know-how with them. Nurturing is building on the skills of the indigenous people you work with until you can integrate them with your own skills. Nurturing is giving the regard, sharing the talking space, respecting others for their integral gifts.

A Little Something about Nurturing

Nurturing is a vital part of the Enviroadventure experience. Indeed if you are open to nurturing, desire nurturing and want to express it, you are ready for Enviroadventure.

Many of you are European in your major genetic component. The European culture tends to be cold, rationally based and totally deficient in nurturing. Many of you report feeling an emptiness, a sense of what does it all mean? Many are not used to being hugged and have never felt a real sense of belonging. Actually European culture in the USA used to be very focused on belonging, of closeness. There was a caring community that surrounded its members with its warmth. It is true, you had to follow the rules of the culture. But you still belonged.

We seek here to recreate that caring community as we nurture ourselves, nurtures others of like mind, and nurture GAIA.

Why Do We Need Enviroadventure?

There was a time before the invasion of the lands of indigenous people around the world when their lives were focused on nurturing. They nurtured themselves. They nurtured each other. And most importantly, they nurtured GAIA. They controlled the number of births within the group using plants. They used the land lightly, leaving little or no signature. They sang as the planted, they gave their joy to GAIA. In decorative clothing they went to their fields, singing their joy in their interaction with GAIA. Now those who worked the land are replaced by giant, destructive machines who leave huge ruts in the land, packing it down and compacting the soil. It’s all done mechanically, based on the economics of exploitation.

However, about 500 years ago the peaceful world of native people was rudely destroyed by European invaders. Since that time the world has been steadily moving away from its equilibrium point. Forest cover has declined drastically. Birth control by natural methods has fallen into disuse. The refined metals have cut deeply into the earth, destroying mountains, sending millions of ton of ages old topsoil to clog reservoirs, lakes, and streams.

The European signature on the EarthHome has been disastrous. 2 million American Indians, killed and driven off the land which was ruthlessly appropriated by Europeans. Black Africans, living in harmony and in village close to the EarthHome, had their very lives stolen. Imagine, working for 60 years or more, without a single penny in payment. Having no food provided, thus having to collect plants from the forest, eat the waste from the Europeans table. And after 400 years, with a 50 trillion dollar wealth transfer, these people were then freed.

They took up land, 21 millions acres, a small compensation for the slavery experience. Many of them intermarried with the Indians and became landowners by inheritance. Most so called Black American are really Afro-Indians. Yet no compensation for these Indians have ever been made. But within 100 years by lynching, domestic terrorism, and other illegal means, this land is now in the hands of the Europeans. Not satisfied with taking the land from the Amerindians, stealing the lives of millions of AfroIndians and Black Africans, the Europeans (henceforth called Exploiter) turned to the tropics. Need I talk about the Vietnam War, and Agent Orange? OR the US’s refusal to sign any of the pacts against landmines or the Rio Declaration. Or the way the US stood by and watched Tianamen Square. Can we depend on our government to do the right thing in saving the rain forests? What about the fragile mountain ecosystems of the world? Who will save them?

We need Enviroadventure because through this TriNurturing healing, affirming experience, we reach the highest form of interaction on the EarthHome - Mutualism. Most of the organism on the Earth live by competition, predation, parasitism. The development of mutualism - benefits to both parties is a higher form of experience. It occurs in both high and low level of complexity. Blue green algae swallowed by an amobalike creature became a chloroplast. The shark has his remora. The cattle has his egrets. The butterfly pollinates the flowers. The flowers gives it a pollen meal and a nectar meal. We feed the birds and joy in watching their antics.

Intibuca - The Spiritual Home of Enviroadventure

I am Spirit Tree Woman. I’d like to invite you to come to a place you may never have heard of. It’s called Intibuca. Intibuca is in Honduras. It’s a Departmento many people have never heard of. It is a place where blackberries grow wild, peaches and apples are grown and strawberries are a new export crop. In winter, during June, July and August, you need warm clothes. Big sellers in the marketplace are warm woolen blankets imported from Guatemala.

You will love Intibuca. But there is more than just pleasure in this state filled with mountain pine forests. This is one of the most endangered ecosystems in the world. The mountain cloud forests of the tropics are more threatened than the rain forests of the tropics.

You are invited to come to Intibuca to know the forests, to learn Spanish and to interact with the Lenca Indians. The money of Honduras is called the lempira. The lempira is named for Lempira, a Lenca Indian leader treacherously killed by the Spanish at peace talks they called.

Each year local school children mostly Indian (this is an Indian state for all practical purposes), dress up in Indian garb, carry bows and arrows in school and paint themselves in honor of Lempira.

Sound intriguing. take a look at some images of Intibuca, in the capital city, La Esperanza (the hope).

Then come to Intibuca to the EcoEscuela Intibuca. Interact with local Lenca Indians. Find out about why the Lenca Indians are petitioning the government of Honduras for help in preserving the forests. And find out why they need to replant their lands.

Ecoaventura del Caribe is a company being set up for the purposes of sustainable development of the mountain forest & tropical ecosystems in the Caribbean Basin.

Enviroadventure is Based on Feeling Joy and AtOnement with GAIA as we heal ourselves, heal others and Heal GAIA.

Enviroadventure is a new paradigm of environmental focused One to One development. It is based on the pleasure bond. You see, what gives pleasure bonds you to it. We as lovers of GAIA are seekers of pleasure. We want to feel good. And so we are developing this new method with the up front desire for those who participate to feel pleasure.

Have you ever seen loggers cutting trees skidding them in rain so hard that 3 to four foot ruts are created?

Do you think it gave them pleasure to do that? No! But it made them feel powerful. They feel pleasure that even though the trees may be big, with their machines they can push them down. They feel they are more powerful even than GAIA.

How Does Enviroadventure different from tourism?

Enviroadventure is a subset of Ecotourism. We have our special agenda - to make the experience of regreening the EartHome a joyous and vital part of our activities. To experience joy. There is more to regenerating GAIA than physical activities. The Earth once rejoiced with our ancestors as they sang and danced out their joy. The EarthHome needs to feel that joy again at the same time we replant, create habitats, and bring the Flyers back to the skies. To get involved in one of our Enviroadventures is to seek the pleasures we describe above.

We are designing our Enviroadventure activities to include a combination of the following:

pleasurable fun activities such as group singing

Pleasurable sharing activities such as building self esteem of others in the group

pleasurable personal growth activities such as building your own personal self esteem

pleasurable physical activities such as planting trees, viewing the environment, building bird houses, building butterfly houses, setting up a herbarium, building nature trails, identifying plants and animals, replanting wildflowers, making handmade paper, etc. It also includes mutually positive, pleasurable interpersonal activities such as sharing with Lenca Indians, eating with campesinos, sharing Indian festivals, learning new songs and dances, making music and playing games

pleasurable spiritual activities such as meditation, massage, natural oils, experiencing flowers

pleasurable learning activities such as identifying plants, making bird and butterfly lists, etc.

Everything in designed to give you pleasure at the same time you grow in your personal potentials.

YOU ARE THE MOST IMPORTANT PERSON IN OUR UNIVERSE? WHY? BECAUSE ONLY YOU HAVE THE RESOURCES TO RECLAIM GAIA.

How You Can Nurture Yourself, Nurture Others and Nurture GAIA

Ecoaventura del Caribe is a new company dedicated to bringing young and young at heart people into a Internet mediated environmental community. Thus young people will be able to form a community without walls, through the Internet and through onsite adventures in Honduras.

Activities include everything from puppet shows with storytelling by Spirit Tree Woman, leader and founder of EAA to weekend and after school programs of ecological studies and research. Other activities include specific plant collecting, butterfly gardening, creation of a herbarium and raising butterflies for release into the wild. Other planned activities include collecting native tree seeds, creating a small native tree nursery, tree planting back into the wild, wildflower seed collecting, wildflower habitat restoration and a variety of other activities.

What is Enviroadventure?

Lessons and learning experiences will be developed through the Internet through the Spirit Tree listserv list to be developed.

Creation of nature trails, litter cleanup, building and placing bird and butterfly houses are all part of the experience.

Use of the Internet to develop the worldwide Spirit Tree community is key. The Earth is one. When you step on the ground in Idaho, you are stepping in China. There is only one continent which extends under the ocean. We cannot touch one part without touching all.

Field trips are a key part of the program. Every other weekend a trip to local areas in Honduras are planned. Construction of a membership Center in Honduras as well as a tree planting trip is also planned for the summer of 2004.

Additional activities include environmental entrepreneurship. According to Spirit Tree Woman, all business activities must come into harmony with GAIA. Making a living through environmental entrepreneurship is one way to make sure we keep our planet moving back toward its equilibrium point.

A planned Spirit Tree ecoconference is schedule for the year 2005. SpiritTree Youth from all countries of the world will be invited.

In addition to the young people's program which will be central to all activities of the community, an adjunct adult program will be developed.

A Little Something About The Green Practicioners

Sunday night I watched a program about the early days of World War II. It showed the difference between the disciplined dictatorship of Germany and the disorganized, freedom loving French, Belgians, and Netherlanders.

It was a classic case of confrontation between disciplined, well financed organized forces and disorganized undisciplined, forces, each seeking personal sovereignty. I watched the Germans run over them like a newly sharpened mower hitting a fresh blade of new grass. A French Reconnaissance pilot brought back pictures of the German war machine as it came towards France. it showed the magnitude of the coming onslaught. He gave the pictures to the French Command and they refused to believe the photographs he had taken.

They could not believe they could be defeated. They simply did not or could not admit to themselves that the enemy could be so powerful.

As a result, the French fell. The people became homeless refugees, displaced persons, persons without homes, food or shelter.

My friends, the environmental movement seems today to be very strong. Earth day is nationwide, even planet wide. The environmental movement is strong, powerful. It seems that No one could possibly stop it or turn it back.

But I also saw a program about a fellow who has over 40,000,000 people following him, seeking to do just that. And he is gaining new followers every day. Don't ever believe you are too strong to be overthrown. You say it cant happen.

So did the French, the Belgians, the Netherlanders, the Polish.

The fact is, when resources are at stake and there is more than one contender, you are at war. In the battle for deciding what will happen to world ecosystems especially to the forests of the world, you are at war, there is always a chance of both victory and defeat.

There is money to be made from cutting down the forest. Therefore, rest assured, there is war around that issue. There is never a time and place to stop and rest on your laurels. You must always be alert, diligent. The enemy will probe and probe, seeking a weak spot to mount an additional war.

There are parallels between the World War II mistakes of the western democracies and the environmental movement. Both were fragmented into many sovereign groups each with their own agenda.

They both face a well organized, more disciplined enemy. 

More important, the enemy has one of the most basic programs ever noted. They are participating for what they think is their economic life. The environmental movement has convinced many people that saving the spotted Owl is more important to environmentalists than saving their family home, than saving the children’s future as they see it. A cornered rat is a dangerous and a vicious fighter. When at war, you need the support of the people, especially a people with the right to vote. Or else a fifth column will form and those who you depend upon for support will find themselves unable to support you, because they have lost their security. They have lost their resource base, which forces them into a economic quagmire.

The problem of economics and the environment is so vital that the environmental movement will have to open up to seeing that man must be a part of the environmental equation.

I believe that can be effected - if not the movement is doomed.

People will cut down every tree in the Amazon if that is the only way they PERCEIVE that they can feed themselves. And the perception is as important as the reality. People will kill every spotted owl in Oregon if they PERCEIVE that as the only way they can feed their families, send their children to college, or whatever.

So the solution to participating this war must be to win the hearts and minds of the people. And the way to do that is to find ways to include them in the environmental movement.

The EnviroGreen Practicioners program is a project I am developing to work with tropical and forest villages to create ecologically sound, sustainable agroecosystems in the tropics where people can make a living by game ranching, iguana raising, butterfly farming, rattan plantations, bamboo plantations and a wide variety of solar energy, small scale water power systems, and soft energy options to enable forest and tropical village people to become active participants in the EnviroGreen Regeneration. What do I mean by EnviroGreen and why do I call it that? And how can you effectively fight in this war?

ENVIROGREEN IS  A THREE SIDED CONCEPT

ECO-- the natural environment - the great trees I love and want to see replanted this is the environmental regeneration component

AGRO- that is the human equation the need of people to have enough food this includes the need to create viable businesses and income generating activities as a component of sustainable ecosystem facilitation

ADVENTURE - This is the development of facilities for sports adventure and adventure travel and tourism activities which provides the profit centers for  all the skills and activities needed to restore the habitats we have destroyed

My organization ISAI, has developed this EnviroGreen Practicioner program as it way to begin work on its goal of replanting 1,000,000 hectares of desertified land in the tropics by the year 2025. In addition, we plan to sponsor a minimum of 10,000 tropical village groups as an EnviroGreen villages by that time.

You may or may not be interested in this particular program.

There are many paths to being an EnviroGreen Regenerator from the Sierra Club to the Nature Conservancy to the World Wildlife Fund. Find the place where you feel good about what you are doing and serve. The choice is yours. Anyone who wants to can have a copy of this handout which includes 17 Action steps to Participating in the EnviroGreen Regeneration.

The EnviroGreen Regeneration program I am developing will include the development of village based corporations in tropical countries where individuals, church and other groups will form a business corporation as a joint venture with a village group and with ISAI.

This will give them an information and power conduit to the outside world and you can ensure that the development occurs in an ecologically sound way. This will enable them to have the financial resources, the market for village products and ensure they are not exploited and that they get a fair price for their goods.

The key to success is to develop your battle plan, gain the necessary resources, establishing an income flow for yourself so that you can have the freedom to fight. Start your own business with the forest villagers so you are not beholden to any corporation so you can be available at all times to your people in your village corporations should you be needed for political or other situations. You need to establish this as business corporation, working with your people in your village as a consultant and partner.

You market their products, you serve as a conduit of information and resources to your village.
