What does it take to make it in today high talented college teams or even in the pros? Now you can get a taste of what top level competition is all about. Find if you really are as good as you think you are. And training and practice in an environment that will make you play at a higher level.
You can train for a week or more with Guerreros De Relámpago - a young soccer team located in La Esperanza, Honduras. It is a relatively new team in Honduras and it has been a success story all the way. The goal of this team is to play in the Intercontinental Cup . The team is made up of Lenca Indian players. These young Lencas grow up walking and running up steep mountain sides from early childhood. Their legs are like iron. You will need great endurance to keep with these young players. They are not extremely large, but they are strong, strong and have great endurance. They often play two or more 90 minute games and then may walk 15 miles home up and down steep mountain sides. Are you good enough to keep up with them? Come to Intibuca and see.
Day One - Arrival You will come into the San Pedro Sula airport and be met by team members. You will then be taken to La Esperanza, driving through the beautiful Western Mountain of Honduras. Then in La Esperanza, you will go to the field to meet the rest of the team and receive your uniform . You will become a part of the team as a Competitive Member.
You will then go to a local restaurant and eat with some of the team members. Later you will practice with the team.
Practicing with Lenca Indian team is a rigorous experience, quite different that youth or amateur soccer teams in the USA. In other words it will be intense, difficult and hard. You need to be in shape physically, mentally and spiritually to play at this level. Is it in you?
You eat at the training table with the team before the game and share the camaraderie of the team. You'll meet the owner of the team, Dr. Carol Cross, She love this team and love interacting with people to talk about it. She will introduce all " Guerreros De Relámpago Week Participants" to their families.
That evening you will stay at the home of one of the players and meet their family
Day Two - you will practice with the team and go everywhere with your team family
Day Three - you will practice and scrimmage with the team
Day Four - You will dress in your team uniform and go to the game with the team in the team bus. You will eat with the team before games and then listen to coaching ideas for the game.
At the game, you will go into the locker room and dress out with the team. At the game, you will serve as ball boy or staff assistant and be out on the field with the team and have your photos taken with the team.
Day Five - You will return home with the team on the bus, stopping to eat at local restaurants in La Esperanza. Food in La Esperanza consists of the locally grown vegetables, fruits, chicken and beef. La Esperanza is different from the rest of Honduras, it is the coolest, most pleasant part of Honduras with its extremely clean Lenca Indians. La Esperanza is the cleanest city in Honduras.
Day Six - You will practice with the team and go over the game and what happened. You will eat dinner with the team. The coach will explain what went well in the game and what they need to pick up the next game. Then they will design specific training for the next game.
Day Seven - You will practice with the team and then be able to spend the evening at a team member's house with your team family and attend an activity with Dr. Cross, Dr. Argueta and Dr, Sorto, owners of the team.
Every week will be the same, practices, games and social life, building friendships, getting to see Honduras.
Final Day - You will be driven to the airport by a team member and then leave for your country.
But Guerreros De Relámpago is not satisfied to be just another team playing in the Second Division of FENAFUTH. Our goal is to develop into a team that goes to and wins the Intercontinental Cup in 15 years. If you are good enough, you will be invited to stay in Honduras and become a part of this great dream.

Complete cost includes all in country expenses - homestay, travel and meals with a team of Honduras. Does not include airfare to Honduras. However, if you let us know one month in advance, we will help you get lowest fare to San Pedro Sula airport. We will pick you up at the airport as part of the package.
