Sample Dialog Two Of The Novella, "The Passions Of Luis"

Read the Weekly background

Alicia - Never have I seen such perfection.

Roberto -- I will be leaving Arboleña soon. I will study in the USA for two years. I hope to become a CPA. My brother Luis is studying in the States. He has begun a Soccer Tourism business and I want to be a part of it. We hope to expand in many directions once we begin. Perhaps develop a large Soccer Tourism Complex on our farm.  We will be brining people from everywhere in the world.  We are going to seek international finance.

Alicia -- You are going to need the help of the Banco de Arboleña.

Roberto -   We are going to need lots of help.   I need to create a data base for investors as well as our customers.  We want to create lifelong customers. We need to computerize it. I want a future for my family, for Arboleña and when I marry for my children. It is important that I use my talents and abilities to achieve that future. And that future is so important I do not intend to make any mistakes in personal relationships.

Alicia - That is good. Keep working in the computer field. It is the future of accounting.

Roberto - What did you really invite me here for?

Alicia - Why don't you admit that there is a recognition between us. Did you not feel it when we first met?

Roberto - I would not presume such a feeling with a Calderon.

Alicia - If I were an ordinary secretary working for the Banco de Arboleña, would you be willing to spend some time with me. Maybe take me to the lake, go fishing, hike in the mountains?

Roberto - It is no use to talk of it. You are a Calderon, out of my reach. (standing up and going to the door) I am sorry, but I am of Arboleña and I know the rules of Arboleña. Thank you for an excellent course. I am sure you will find the right man who will be well born and worthy of your attention.

Alicia - Roberto....
