Utilizing La Profesora Dee's Proprietary Seven Skills of English Language Mastery

Welcome to the greatest breakthrough in English Language Learning.

The Seven Skills of English Language Mastery include ideas from brain-based learning, the idea that different parts of the brain are involved in learning different subject areas. As a result it is vital to engage the entire brain in the learning process. That is why the Seven Skills of English Language Mastery program combines songs, games, and other activities to stimulate different areas of the brain at the same time as they are studying English. As a result of combining these techniques, learners have greater retention. This is important in language learning because the more grammar and words that students know, understand, and are able to output, the greater the ability students as English language learners have to communicate accurately. And learning and using a language is about your ability to communicate.

Learning is changing the molecules in the brain. Lecture has been proven to be the least effective presentation for retention of information. Group work and involvement are more effective than lecture. Once material has been presented, distributed learning has been proven the most effective way to create the most permanent learning. The more information a student has stored in his brain the more he or she has available for thinking, combining ideas, generalizing and altogether being creative.

Through this program you gain the skills to create memory molecules in the brains of their students and thus lead to greater retention of words and knowledge of how to put them together in sentences. Your students will be enabled to learn in an active learning classroom, to utilize the power of words, and to enjoy edutainment-based methods of learning.

Here are some basic components of this system

Wholistic - Includes songs, identifying grammar parts using color, practicing asking questions and dialogs, based on student interest;

Pronounciation practice throughout the class, contrasting English and Spanish sounds, how to make the American English sounds, how to use the sounds in fast speech in dialogs with the new and different structures students were just exposed to so they do not lose the material and form the right learning patterns in their brains;

Grammar based - Learn to contrast English and Spanish sentences so you understand the differences in grammar;

Color Based  Colors are used in analyzing and identifying the parts of grammar in sentences so it is easy to see the difference in the structure patterns of the sentences of the two languages;

Conversation In order to learn to speak English or Spanish you must practice speaking.  It is done within the class in pairs and in rounds.  In addition you learn American conversational speech - how to understand Spoken English;

Learning To Write Using simple fill-ins, sentence completion, color codes for creating paragraphs, puzzles

Paragraph construction begins with guided sentences with simple fill-ins then moves to more complex fill-ins to eventual free writing;

Games - parts of speech bingo, puzzles, Hangman, and board games;

Unique English Pronunciation and Spelling System  Dee Brightman has developed her own proprietary system that works perfectly for Hispanics.  This special English Pronunciation and Spelling System provides only one spelling for each sound found in American English.  Her system teaches Hispanics the 27 consonant and 24 vowel sounds of American English.  And it contrasts each of these sounds with their Spanish Equivalent.
