WE ARE TALKING ABOUT BIG FISH. REALLY BIG FISH. FISHING IN AREAS MOST FISHERMEN NEVER SEE.:
We will begin running Eco-Fishing charters and tours in January 2009 from our tourism projects in Puerto Cortes, Honduras and Cayo San Ignacio, Guatemala.
The Central American Frontier is not only a wonderful place to fish but a wonderful place to retire. You will fish and if you wish, experience the culture. Everywhere are rivers, lakes, volcanoes, mountains, tropical forest, pine forest, mountain cloud forest. This will be the experience of your life.
Many of these waters have been very lightly fished and each of our captains has his own special spot where he knows there are fish.
WE CHOOSE THE BEST BOAT CAPTAINS, THOSE WHO KNOW HOW TO CATCH TROPHY, EVEN RECORD FISH. You can fly fish for billfish, fish deep sea for tuna, or other big ocean fish. We can even setup one day ot fish in the jungle unfished lakes and lagoons.
FRESHWATER FISHING TOURS
Of course if you want to fish freshwater we can take you to places where tarpon of 100 even 200 pounds lurk. And you can experience the culture of the people where you can sit on the porches of local eating places and listen to street musicians play local music.
Your freshwater trips will give you the special experience of having a home stay with local fishermen, Food will be cooked in a horno or clay oven. You'll drink real coffee, grown, harvested, ground by the homeowner. Until you have drank this kind of coffee, you have never lived.
Breakfast will be native breakfast, tortillas, eggs, meat, refried beans, fried plantain with fresh pressed juice. Though we will be in a motor boat, we will seen many native fishermen in aboriginal cast netters who fish with lines dropped over the side. At 9 PM the frogs begin to sing in a cacophony. At 12 midnight exactly they become silent. You will see iguanas, monkey, perhaps a howler, a tapir, even a caiman or crocodile.
These rivers and lakes are fished by trolling as well as casting. The guides
know where the fish lurk and will guide the boat to their personal honey holes.
Before fishing you'll get a lesson on the ecology of the area and how you can be
apart of keeping this paradise safe for you to fish again next year. We'll
even show you how to catch these big fish of 50 plus pounds.
Once you hook a tarpon he will leap into the air, giving you an incredible
rush. Catch and Release is our way and our boats will only bring in two one
pound fish per person for cooking and eating later. You will see women washing clothes along the river.. See some photos of
