  The Threat of Global Warming

Handling Global Warming Is Vital To Our Planet's Sustainability and Is Of Concern to Soccer Development

North American Soccer Youth - Participate In The Soccer Against Global Warming Soccer Tournament and Plant Trees

This unique tournament offers soccer players an opportunity to play in an international tournament, enjoy cross cultural activities, and participate with Honduran youth in tree planting projects of the Liga Menor de Futbol Intibucana. As part of the Honduras Youth Soccer Project, young soccer players of the Liga Menor plant trees in the name of donors of soccer equipment to the Liga Menor. By holding a cleat drive to collect soccer gear for the Liga Menor, young soccer players in the USA receive free membership in the Youth Soccer Leaders Program (YSLP). All players in this tournament who bring a soccer uniform as a donation to the Liga Menor will receive free membership in the YSLP. You will receive special recognition on Awards Night if you Start A Cleat/Uniform Drive.

The Danger Of Global Warming

Soccer Tourism Is BeingDeveloped As A Means of Sustainable Development.

Nothing We Do Matters if Global Warming Kicks In. Find Out More About Halting Global Warming.

Global Warming is happening.  It is something we all fear.  We fear it because we do not want to have our planet be like the movie "Waterworld".  In that movie there is dry land only on one mountaintop and the entire planet has become an ocean.

We do not want that to happen.  Unless a method of sustainable development is found, our planet could become a true water world.  A true water world would be one in which 90 percent of the planet would be covered by water.

We live on a water planet. A water planet is a planet in which much of the surface is covered by water.  If you looked at our planet from space, it would not look green, it would look blue. That is because we are surrounded by a world ocean. The land spaces are just mountaintops, jutting up from a world ocean, I know we think there is the Pacific Ocean, the Atlantic Ocean, The Indian ocean, the Arctic Ocean. In truth these are all the World Ocean.

Our weather is created by this world ocean in connection with its air interface. This water/air interface is in dynamic equilibrium, as water evaporates from the waters of our planet, become air in the form of water vapor, rises, condenses, fall as rain, rain then falls on the Earth surface, runs off and returns to the World ocean.

This state of dynamic equilibrium is called the world weather pattern. The equilibrium point of this world weather system is determined by the mean temperature of our Earth. When the mean worldwide temperature moves out of a certain range, say it is lowered, we have an ice age. The ice sheets advance across hemispheres. When the mean worldwide temperature rises above a certain range, say for the past 10,000 years, give or take a few minor fluctuations, we have what we called an interglacial period.

We as civilized people feel that such an interglacial period is normal weather. However in the past of our Earth, mean temperature has been higher. At the time of the dinosaurs, mean temperature was higher. T Rex needed a  hotter temperature than say, Northern Minnesota.

Our industrial civilization functions within the global weather system. However, recent events have caused concerns. Because of our unthinking and careless behaviors, we as a species are threatening to move the mean world temperature higher.

Our planet has a global circulation of air and water. That means when we heat up our air with excess carbon dioxide emissions, we affect the weather in Singapore. What happens in our atmosphere and thus our weather is due to the amount of the carbon emissions we send out into the environment.  You can find out about a possible global warming scenario:
