Your Performance As An Athlete Depend On the Inner, Not The OuterThe inner athlete program is based on controlling the inner and outer environment of a soccer player. While it is an integral part of all our programs we offer a special program for players who have the physical and mental skills of soccer but who do not yet possess the self esteem, the character skills, the inner toughness to play "the Beautiful Game" at their Peak Performance. This is a program that combines soccer practice and skills development, with inner belief changing modules and self instruction. Most athletes today are well trained, with bodies in perfect condition. How do we win a game when the other athlete is just as good as, or maybe a little bit better than us? The solution of choice is usually Intimidation, trash talking, self esteem lowering. This works because most of us have been programmed all our lives to believe that if we are "not liked" we not okay. Many athletes live with inner voices that are constantly running in our heads. The negative things we were told as children, you’ll never amount to anything", you can’t win", you’ll never succeed" you’re just a loser. Many athletes manage through sheer will to become physically conditioned and skilled. Yet the inner voices of the past are still shouting in their head "you can’t win". To succeed as an athlete, you need to change your inner beliefs. Gain control of your own mind, make your choices based on your own abilities and talents and open ourselves up to winning. Here’s steps on how to begin today to change your inner beliefs. From birth, we are given our "permitteds’ or things it is okay for us to do by the society we are born into. The family you born into determines the kind of behavior that is acceptable. In some families, children are permitted to speak their feelings and in other they wouldn't dare. For a time women were not "permitted" to seek to win, to be competitive. What are your permitteds? What are the things you feel safe in doing. Do you have to be the person who always scores. or can you feel good inside as a play maker. Understanding what you are permitted to do is the same as understanding your personal self esteem. To succeed as an athlete, you need to understand how your "permitteds" are affecting your athletic performance and how to modify them.. An athlete is an entertainer. No matter how talented, if people do not come to see an athlete, the team will go broke. An entertainer is someone who is paid according to the number of people who want to watch him or her. That means that your job as a n athlete is to be entertaining, to be worth watching, to be watchable. Athletes, people are looking at you. Popular athletes command more money because people not only see you on the playing field or court, they see you in commercials, in personal appearance. Since you as an athlete are making your money by "being seen" the things you do while being seen are things others will imitate. Any athlete who makes his or her living by "being seen" is automatically telling others, especially the young, what is "okay to do" or what they are permitted to do. Every word you say, every act you do, every look you give, is giving someone "permission" to act. As an athlete, you are already a leader. Athletic Mastery is a integrative (Body + Mind + Spirit) athletic skill development system. This program flows out from the different styles of play in the Western Hemisphere. They bring to the table Body + Mind + Spirit skill sets so they: a) know how to play their sport well by constantly upgrading body skills; b) understand mentally how to develop and follow a game plan and, c) constantly work inwardly to develop the self esteem to play to their mental and physical capability. There are three parts to learning - body, mind and spirit. Every event of our lives are stored somewhere in our memory bank. We remember every loss, every failure, and we remember every triumph. But if we are in family or group that emphasizes our failure, we learn to replay those failure over and over again. And every time we run through an event, it creates deeper and deeper memory grooves. and those memory grooves about failing can make us gun-shy. They accumulate and begin to spill over into other You Are Always Practicing For LifePracticing for life. What does that mean and why are youth sports so important in training children to deal with life? Success builds the person up inside, makes them feel like keeping on in spite of adversity and setbacks. Failing lowers the person’s life energy. "Why bother trying if I’m going to fail anyway?" Today sports are the major places where our youths are training for life. Winning isn’t everything, winning is the only thing. The fact is, you are not always going to win. But youth sports should give us a chance to win 51 percent of the time. You see that’s all your body need is to win just 51 percent of the time. Why is this important that kids win? Now a wise coach or leader knows that sometimes the team will lose. When the team loses, now is the time to get your players together and go over the loss. Get a chalk board or flip chart page. Show them how to correct the mistake. Explain to them that when we learn, we usually don’t get it right the first time. Explain that the game is like life. When we try something new, start our own business, start a new job, chances are we are not going to perform perfectly. Losing a game or project is like falling off a horse. We’ve got to get back on. The emphasis on the inner athlete will lead to Peak Performance. Peak Performance through Athletic Mastery means making each practice one of skill enhancement. Peak performance does not mean perfectionism. We do not expect absolute perfection of the form of a skill. It means that each time, you better your previous performance. Every time you go out, you will be seeking to have a better time, better speed, better accuracy than before. Every time you practice or play, you try to do it better. Potentiating the inner athlete combines physical, mental and character development. It includes soccer practices and skills development, with inner belief changing modules and self instruction. As founder of LigaAmericás Fútbol World, I want this new way of learning soccer to enable everyone in the world to experience the "Beautiful Game". Soccer has the potential for being the vehicle for creating world peace. In order for soccer. This new way of learning soccer will be focused on the development of the "inner athlete" the mental and spiritual component that enable one World Class athlete to defeat another . All things considered, most World Class athletes are equal in physical skills. Yet the athlete that usually wins is the one with the strongest inner athlete. That’s why we focus so much on inner strength, character and personal development. Want to know more?
