Welcome To the
Garden Plaza -
Your Place of Healing
Dr. Carol Cross, Director,
Asociación
Intibucana de Comunicación
would like to invite you to come to the cool cloud
forest of Intibuca and regenerate from the stresses of your daily life.
Here you can sit under a shade tree sipping Maracuya (Passion Fruit) from the
mountains. Chances are you have already tasted Passion fruit but the
wild ones from the mountains have a more delicious, richer taste. The only
sounds are those of a small community in the mountains - birds, a chicken or
two, people walking and talking outside the porton. It's just pure peace
and harmony.
The Garden Plaza
is a small bed and breakfast in a community in the Western mountains of
Honduras. There is no such thing as a a fast pace here. This tranquil
community has existed for hundreds of years with the same culture. The
hotel has been designed with healing in mind.
The Garden Plaza is an ecospiritual place. We are
living in a world of stress, of pollution, fears of global warming, worry
about the war in Iraq, terrorism everywhere. Our world is in
need of healing. Each of us needs to heal from all these stresses. We
need a place to retreat from the world, a place to go to have our Spirits
renewed, to come close to the Earth, to feel the flow of the Earth's healing
touch.
Where will such a place be
found? Who is willing to dedicate themselves to creating a place where
spirits can be healed, where peace can be found where creature comforts are
an integral part of the design? Where everything we see is in harmony
with the spirit of our world? Where you can look out your window and see the
forest on the mountains, so close you could touch it?
Such a place has been created in the Mountain cloud pine forest of the Lenca
Indian town of La Esperanza (the hope) of Honduras. This temperate
mountain hideaway is unspoiled. There is not even one traffic light in
the small town. The Lenca Indian market carries you back 50 years to the
slow small town life of the 1950s in the USA. And the smiling, caring
Lenca Indians give you their hospitality and their welcome.
The Garden Plaza is the creation of three
expatriates, Dr. Carol Cross, Profesora Dee Brightman and Youth Coach Chris
Watkins, Americans from Arizona who have moved to La Esperanza. They have
all worked together to make the Garden Plaza a place of peaceful rest. And
they have worked together in harmony to create this wonderful place of
beauty and healing designed to be your place of healing.
What led the family to create the Garden Plaza?
Some of us are blessed with the touch of Spirit. We get special
visions, words, pictures, music or designs by Spirit in its work to heal our
world. Such a person is a Spirit Conduit Artist. A Spirit Conduit
Artist is one who sees what others do not seem, hears what others do not
hear and feels what others do not hear. When these expatriates
decided to create something, Spirit led them to the creation of a bed and
breakfast where people could come and be at peace. They were led to create a
place of healing for you.
Welcome to the renewal of your Spirit!

have their own room. They will be quiet and polite. Volunteers
are a special kind of person who loves to give. There is no need to interact
with them if you do not want to but they are very friendly.
