You Are Rich Because You Can Participate In The Beautiful Game

American soccer programs are privileged to have all the resources needed to develop high quality soccer programs. Indeed, the fact that 17,000,000 American youth are in organized soccer programs attests to the support soccer programs like yours have available to them. I would like to invite you to bring a new program to your soccer youth. The opportunity to develop a superordinate goal. Soccer for Life, Inc, has at its goal the development of youth soccer in Honduras.

A key project of Soccer For Life is the Honduras Youth Soccer Program which includes a soccer gear donation project and the Youth Soccer Leaders Program. Soccer for Life is working with the Liga Menor de Futbol Intibucana to develop the Honduras Youth Soccer Center. You are invited to take a look at some Scenes of Youth Soccer in Intibuca, photos of youth playing soccer in Intibuca using uniforms collected by Soccer for Life and shipped to Honduras.

There are two groups of youth in Intibuca. Those who would like to play but cannot because there are no uniforms, soccer cleats, shin guards or equipment for them to play. They are the youth would be able to play if you help by donating your used and unwanted soccer gear. The second group are the lucky ones. These youth belong to the Liga Menor de Futbol Intibucana and have caring adults who are helping them develop the skills they need to play soccer. This last year in November, the Liga Menor brought a team from Nigeria to play in the First Torneo Internacional Intibucana. CLICK HERE to see photos of the tournament. The second Torneo Internacional Intibucana is being held in July, 2005. This tournament has been dedicated to fighting global warming by participating in tree planting as part of the tournament.

The youth who are able to play in the Liga Menor are lucky. But we would like to extend the opportunity to play to more youth. That is why the Honduras Youth Soccer Program, the soccer gear donation project and the Youth Soccer Leaders Program. These are the result of the Liga Menor joining with Soccer for Life to develop the Honduras Youth Soccer Project. This project is dedicated to extending the opportunity to play soccer to 2000 youth in the state of Intibuca. Because deforestation is taking place in Intibuca and the Liga Menor is active in tree planting the tournament will include field trips as well as tree planting opportunities. Each player coming to the tournament is asked to bring a used uniform and ball so another child will be able to play soccer. We are also dedicated to building the Intibuca Youth Soccer Center.
