You As A Soccer League Have Great Influence On Your Coaches, Teams and Players
Soccer Leagues Can Give The Cup Of Hope To Youth In Honduras In Many Ways:
1. Participate in Project Athletic Shoe For Youth Empowerment As A Coordinator.Ask all the parents and adults you know to clean out their old athletic shoes, basketball shoes and running shoes and bring them to you. Ask them to donate ten dollars for shipping to Honduras. You as coordinator collect the athletic shoes. The cost of shipping 500+ pairs of shoes to Honduras is around $250. All you need is a contribution of 25 people to pay for the shipping. Go to the page Project Athletic Shoes For Youth Empowerment for details on the project. You can send out emails to all your friends and ask them to help. CLICK HERE for a sample email letter you can send out. All You Have To Do IS Collect 500 Pairs of Athletic Shoes/Soccer Cleats and Pay The Shipping Cost To Honduras. With This Gift, Your Group Build A Youth Empowerment Small Tourism Project In Their Village. CLICK HERE And Take A Look At How Your 500 pairs Of Shoes Will Change A Young Person's Life. And each of these projects will develop a small soccer field. Where Can You Find 500+ Pairs of Athletic Shoes? There are many ways to collect your 500+ pairs of shoes. Here are some ways 1. Ask each member of your organization to collect athletic shoes from their closets, garages and basements. 2. Place a collection box in your organization meeting home 3. Have a "Athletic Shoe Potluck" and have each person bring a pair of shoes along with the food 4. Talk to other local organizations with thrift shops and ask them to donate a few pair 5. Talk to your local shoe stores and ask them to donate a few pair 6. Ask to put up a box in the local high school 7. Go to your local college and ask them if they have a recycling program and will they help by collecting at the college 8. Ask your employer if you can collect athletic shoes there 9. Talk to the mayor of your town and ask him for support 10. See if you can put a public service announcement on local radio or television 11. Talk to your pastor 12. If you belong to organizations like Kiwanis or Lions Club see if they will help collect at their meetings 13. Collect Unused Sport Equipment and Materials from your closet, Storage Unit, Garage and Basement and Ship Them To HondurasEverything you no longer use can be used by the Honduras Youth Soccer Project. We need uniforms, t shirts, shorts, socks, nets, balls, medals, trophies, warm-ups, jackets, sports bags, water bottles, nets, portable goals, soccer cleats. It doesn't matter what it is if you had it for sports activities and you still have it, we can use it. 3. Buying Shoes For Children and Young AdultsWe are creating a line of athletic shoes and soccer cleats that can be purchased for a small amount of money. These are for the youth (teenagers) who demonstrate some talent and could have a future as soccer players. Good soccer cleats or athletic shoes will be available for purchased here for 300-500 lempiras (15 to 20 dollars) 4. Sponsor A Donation ConcursoMany community want to hold concursos. These concursos draw the people together. Here's one concurso where hundreds of children and adults came together. The children to compete, the adults to watch. The concurso is like a field day in the USA. The soccer gear you donate, the funds you send for shipping enable these communities to come together for a day of clean fun and soccer. Here the mayor of San Miguelito welcomes Soccer for Life to a large concurso held in this mountain community. Not only did we enjoy the races, we also helped out with a little coaching for goalies, which is sorely lacking here. As a result, we are offered many opportunities to teach character. 5. Volunteer In Honduras With Project Athletic Shoe For Youth EmpowermentThis is a unique volunteer opportunity to be a part of the pioneering Recycled Athletic Shoes Financing program. You will live in Intibuca and participate with Peace Corps volunteers, international volunteers, Intibuca Youth Soccer Volunteers in planning and supporting youth in their small scale tourism projects. Hold A Fund Raising Field Day In Your SchoolA Fund Raising Field Day is a fun, excitement day where your young athletes can have fun, get exercise, raise funds and build their personal self esteem. A Fund Raising field day is similar to a Donation Concurso we run with our soccer donations in Honduras. The difference, is that there are entry fees for athletes to enter the Field Day. These entry fees are used for defraying the cost of the Field Day and raise funds for shipping to Honduras. In addition to the entry fees, each athlete is required to clean out his or her closet or garage and bring the soccer items found there. In addition, each athlete will attempt to get sponsors for his entry fee as well as for sending to Honduras. We will put together a password protected page for your use once you decide to offer a field day. In addition we will place your event on our Soccer For Life Fundraising Calendar with a link to your club web site. 12. Help us collect soccer gear and promote the Honduras Youth Soccer Project. You can stop the waste of used soccer gear in your community. You can stimulate companies and groups to donate. Help us Share The Soccer Gear Donation Project
Thank You For Caring And SharingWe value every contribution you make to Soccer For Life. Our donors are the key to making a contribution to the children of Intibuca. We thank you in advance for sharing with us and through us to the children of Intibuca. However you choose to share, your gift will change the life of a child. |

Setting Up the Intibuca Youth Soccer Center Soccer For Life is planning to set up the Intibuca Youth Soccer Center for our teams we will be developing. Because of the fact that many of our Youth-At-Risk have not yet learned the social manners of those in mainstream youth leagues and soccer clubside, we feel that these youths should play among themselves until they gain better social skills. We will be teaching soccer skills, social skills and character skills such as teamwork, dealing with anger and self control. |
