When a new industry is just coming into being, investing in it seems to be risky. Usually you see a lot of missionaries for the new product or in rare cases the universe of known new products that can be developed. These are the high risk takers, the people who believe in this new idea and seem willing to starve themselves just to keep on going to develop this exciting new idea. These are the entrepreneurs, like Bill Gates, Sam Walton, Steve Jobs, etc. They take the biggest risk, they take home the biggest profits.

Entrepreneurship is defined as risk taking. Stepping out of faith. going into debt. Delving into something. Making an area of business a life work.

And many times it pays off. Lots of time its doesn't, but when it does pay off, it pays off big. It is the surest way to riches to get in on the ground floor of a new industry, become part of it, and get rich as it develops.

This is an exciting time in history for entrepreneurship. For the first time we have the INTERNET, a new means of communication that shows the promise of making all of us be able to be in communication with each other.

When an industry becomes respect-able, accepted, and is a recognized part of the prevailing business culture, becoming a part of it is okay. Children are encouraged to go into businesses in the industry almost from birth. Children play with money and role play being a businessperson and from early childhood they begin working in the family store or business. Children are encouraged to talk about starting their own business in the industry at the dinner table where business problems are readily discussed there.

When the child has an idea about developing a business in the industry within this supportive environment, he or she learns that being in business in this industry is indeed something to be proud of. Because of this synergistic encouragement children grow up to form business empires in the industry. The prime example of an acceptable industry is the computer industry. In an acceptable industry, there are many niches in which to make a living.

Because of the of its acceptability and many market niches, many people are enriched in such a industry. an acceptable industry thus becomes an entrepreneurial culture, NEW IDEAS ARE WELCOMED. New players are viewed eagerly in case they have an idea that can be used in different applications.

Skilled persons flit from company to company creating a well of cross fertilization. It is a rich and bountiful way of life, with many new niches constantly opening up for new entrants. The profit motive that drives the culture is seen as the obvious, best way of life. Venture capital flows in to drive this exciting, vibrant, fermenting culture. New businesses spring up every day.

This is what happened in the computer industry the span of about 10 years. unlimited market niches opened up. Many many ways of making a living emerged. technologies fed upon each other, synergy was almost unlimited and a vibrant culture was created which has enriched many people. And the computer industry changed the way we our lives.

There are many niches in an acceptable industry. Some of the niches in the computer based entrepreneurial culture are shown below.

The key thing to remember is how fast the computer industry changed our lives.  In the 1970's most work in offices was done by typewriter. The electronic typewriters were a marvelous time saver.  Most computer work at this time was done on large mainframes.  Then the idea came to Apple founder that a small computer could be developed that could be used in your home.  During this era along came Bill Gates who developed BASIC and the rest is history.

Now every home has at least one computer.  Then there are the laptop and hand helds. But the most powerful thing to come out of the computer revolution has been the internet.  Without the internet, there would be no developing Global Sports Adventure.  With it, SAT Entrepreneurs anywhere in the world can offer their SAT experience to everyone. Everywhere.
