The Value of Soccer

Each child begins at a certain base and learned every skills. We follow the same program as karate. We start every kid at the very beginning of our learning program. We start with the most basic of skills.. Then the student progress from this base of expecting the child not to know anything about playing soccer.

Soccer has become very popular. Your child will want to get into it. But what if she or he is12, or 14 or older and has never played before. Children are very cold and cruel. Your child will get only one opportunity to go onto a soccer team where kids may have been playing for years. 

If he goes out there and cannot play they will not want him on the team. They will reject him. Remember by that age, kids don’t just want to play. They want to win. And if they feel that child who has absolutely no skills will make them lose, they will ostracize that child. They will reject him, cold shoulder him. And chances are he or she will just drop out of soccer.

And soccer is the most popular game in the world. The world of soccer is a universal language. They will forever be closed out of this exciting world, the fastest growing game in the world. And this could be another rejection.

If your child could walk out onto that field for that first time and kick that soccer ball half the length of the field, juggle the ball, do a chest trap and dribble it, the other kids will say, hey this guy can play. He can help us win.

Remember what we seek to do in the Dan Gaston Soccer Leagues soccer is to create kids who succeed. Kids who develop self confidence. Kids who believe in themselves. Kids who have learned how to control themselves.

Our program is based on creating a safe place in which to learn. We believe that a safe place is vital for our youth We only learn when we feel safe. When we do not feel safe, we are unable to perform at our best. Indeed we may freeze and be unable to perform what we really know how to do.

The kids program is very important. But adults can enjoy soccer as well. In our country one of the problems our kids have is that there is no cadre of father and grandfathers play soccer well enough to work out with their kids. Also with the advent of arena soccer, many adults men and women alike are learning that soccer for recreation is a game that can be played for years, not only when you are young but up into your advancing years. It’s a sport that once you understand it, can make you able to travel anywhere in the world and participate with business partners who love this game and live it as a vital part to your life.

You Experience Peak Performance As A Western Hemisphere Soccer Master

Soccer Mastery is a integrative (Body + Mind + Spirit) athletic skill development system.  This program flows out from the different styles of  play in the Western Hemisphere.  In the USA we see youth soccer programs in every community.  They are based  on volunteer coaches who are dedicated to giving North American youth their support and guidance.  This highly organized system is focused on building a whole new cadre of soccer players.  These young players grow up having been trained and coached as they build the skills. 

In Latin America we see soccer players immersed in a soccer culture almost from birth. There is little or no organized activities for youth. But because it is an integral part of the culture, almost every male plays soccer weekly, sometimes daily. 

The Soccer Parents Club  Soccer Mastery seeks to create a new Western Hemisphere soccer style.  This new program will be called LigaAmericás Fútbol World.  It will combine the step by step North American organized soccer system with the "run and gun life immersion" soccer of Latin America.

Through this cross fertilization, we seek to create soccer players who play at their present peak level each time them enter the field.  A key component is our emphasize on the inner athlete.  Our inner athlete emphasis will include the development of cross cultural communication strategies for our players. We expect to have soccer camps in both Latin America and North America and enable our players to experience both these vital styles.  

By teaching cross-cultural communication methods, we will enable any player in the Western Hemisphere to tap into all the soccer traditions and greatness of our Hemisphere.

The Coming LAFW Soccer Mastery Programs

Additionally we will integrate the Spirit, which is what really defines the peak performing athlete.  Thus our heavy focus on developing character or inner athlete spirit, rather than just the development of physical and mental skills.  The emphasis on the inner athlete will lead to Peak Performance. Peak Performance through Soccer Mastery means making each practice one of skill enhancement. 

Dr. Carol Cross, founder of the Soccer Masters Program will be opening a cross cultural soccer academy in Honduras in September 2005.

How does a Soccer Master play the game?

They bring to the table Body + Mind + Spirit skill sets so they:

a)  know how to play soccer well by constantly upgrading body skills;

b) understand mentally how to develop and follow a game plan and ;

c)  constantly work inwardly to develop the self esteem to play to their mental and physical capability. 

What are the goals of LigaAmericás Fútbol World?

We seek to create a Western Hemisphere Soccer Culture.  We want to serve as the facilitator for the development of soccer as the cross-cultural communication medium in the Western Hemisphere.  Soccer can be the bonding and linking force that can eventually lead to a united Western Hemisphere.

Our role is to facilitate soccer focused communication methods for every person in the Western Hemisphere.  Only through communication can we develop a Hemisphere-wide soccer culture.  We invite you to use these resources and join with us in unifying our Hemisphere through soccer.
