The
Valley of Jesus de Otoro
The Hot Spot In The State of Intibuca
Welcome To Warmth In The Cool State of Intibuca
Jesus de Otoro is the warm tropical part of
Intibuca. When you come down into the valley from La
Esperanza, you will need to take off your sweaters or sweat shirts. If you are
in a car you may have to turn on your air conditioning. You are about to enter
the tropics. You will see a lot of Leucaena trees and other tropical
trees. Guanacastes here are huge. Orchids are everywhere. Flower
gardens abound with many many colors.
The mountain country is cool and refreshing.
It never gets over 80 degrees Fahrenheit. The breezes are cool. The pine
trees, sweet gums and other temperate trees. Roses abound in La Esperanza and
environs along with blackberries and other temperate fruits like apples, pears,
plums and peaches.
But sometimes even the most refreshing cool
breeze is not enough to please a visitor. There comes a time when the
desire for a warmer place comes over a visitor to Honduras. There comes a
moment what a person wants to see cashew trees and see mango trees. The
beauty of red ginger flowers and heliconias is only seen in warmer areas.
To see these you will need to travel down from the high mountains of La
Esperanza to the warm Valley of Otoro below.
