Soccer for Life is a non profit 501-(3) C organization designed to enable all the children of the Western Hemisphere to have the opportunity to play soccer, the beautiful game.  Soccer for Life has received a determination of tax exemption from Federal Income taxes . All contributions to Soccer For Life, Inc., are deductible under section 170 of the Code. That means that donations of cash as well as equipment, used soccer gear, vehicles, etc., receive a tax deduction from IRS. Any donation will be valued and you will receive a statement from Soccer for Life, Inc., that you can use to deduct from your income tax. We are classified as a public charity under 509 (a) (2) of the IRS code. We function under the laws of the State of Arizona and carry an Internal Revenue Service "Recognition of Exemption", No. 17053296009004

The idea of gender equality has yet to reach Honduras because the Normal Occidente, the colegio or high school has an excellent soccer field that can only be used by the boys teams. The boys team has coaches and its own soccer field or cancha. The field is good enough that while the stadium is being rebuilt, the schools’ field is being used by Athletico Esperanzano, the second division team in La Esperanza.

However, the girls do not have a coach. In Honduras at this time, girls have to play with size 3 balls. The girls soccer program in Honduras is practically non existent. Here are some of the problems these girls face if they want to play soccer:

1. There is no women soccer coach or director of the program

2. The mothers don't want for the girls to be alone with a man coach

3. There is no female voluntary coaches available (women work really hard in Intibuca and have little spare time)

4. There is no system for training of female coaches

5. There are no uniforms, tacos, chimpas, balls or courts

6. If the girls have to have use the bathrooms there are no portable toilets

7. The soccer fields don't have fences so anyone can walk onto the court and extract a girl

8. In the States when the men coach youth, there is the rule that two coaches are with the child at any time, but that would not serve in a country like Honduras since there are not enough coaches to have one per team. Often one coach has three or four teams

9. To work with girls it is necessary to be a good coach, but also to have skills in self esteem building and other character traits - there is absolutely non one who could teach these skills.

10. There is no available trainers in FENAFUTH to train coaches in working with women and girls

11. There is no certification for coaches, so there is no way to control coaches by taking away their license or suspending it.

12. Girls work three hours for every 30 minute boys work. That means while boys will be excused to practice and go on trips girls will still have to clean, cook and do other housework.

13. Families keep their girls close to home. They would be afraid to let them go off on bus trips where they will be loosely chaperoned.

As a result of all these problems, there is no soccer program for girls or women soccer athletes in Honduras. While the Liga Mayor enables young male soccer players to move seamlessly to the amateur play, there is no program for preparing girls let alone for women to play in Honduras. To help the girls of Honduras to get an opportunity to play soccer, we will be developing an intern program to bring women coaches to Honduras.

Soccer for Life, Inc., is an Arizona not for profit organization dedicated to youth empowerment, youth involvement and youth sports for personal development.  In support of this mission, Dr. Carol Cross, Founder and International Director of Soccer for Life invites you to participate in Soccer Action For A Green World, the environmental soccer program.  Soccer Action for a Green World creates confluence between youth in developed countries including the USA, Canada, European countries, Japan, Taiwan, South Korea, New Zealand, Australia, South Africa and youth in developing countries.  Confluence or moving together alongside is one of the most pressing needs of the 21st century.  Young people growing up today are going decide if it is war or peace.  They will decide to create friendships with those from other cultures or to act like enemies.  In addition, they are going to decide if our world will be green or brown, hot or normal.  Through Soccer Action For A Green World, our youth can build friendships, create new ideas, develop projects to fight global warming and change the world into a better place.

It is our feeling that everyone is seeking community, structure, meaning an a Superordinate Goal. We consider these the requisite for a life lived for sharing and receiving alike, supporting and being supporting, offering comfort and being comforted.  We call our "Personal Contribution To Life".

Soccer for Life is seeking your help to develop the Intibuca Youth Soccer Center where intend to create the Soccer Action For A Green World Ecolodge for sponsors, donors and patrons of Soccer For Life can come and relax and regenerate.  We are putting together a volunteer program, fund raising kits and all the support you need to make through Personal Contribution to Life.

How to Prepare Your Donations

Your donations will be shipped to Honduras in the boxes you send. Please send in sturdy boxes no larger than 22 x 22 x 22 to:

The boxes should be no bigger than 22"x22"x22". Place items inside plastic garbage bags and close them before putting the soccer gear in the boxes. The boxes will be shipped by boat and this ensures they do not get wet. The boxes should be labeled with two labels:

The donated items must be itemized on the Donation Invoice Sheet. A copy must be placed in each box as well as a separate copy must be sent to Dr. Cross. Make sure when you send her the envelope of the donation sheets, you tell her it is for the Soccer for Life Donation project.
